Articles and Publications
I have written articles for peer reviewed journals, widely distributed publications and contributed to chapters in books. Follow the link for a list of some my publications.
I have become adept at the use of the ultrasound scanner. Now a routine part of my practice, when appropriate I use ultrasound to assist me in making a rapid diagnosis and, if indicated, guide therapeutic injections to their intended target with accuracy. I believe that the ultrasound scanner is to the musculoskeletal physician what the stethoscope is to the cardiologist.
I see all musculoskeletal injuries but have a particular interest in those acquired through collision/combat sports (rugby codes, martial arts), functional fitness (e.g. Crossfit), weight lifting and video gaming.
When not attending to patients I try to practice what I preach through taking regular exercise (mostly functional fitness) and attempt to keep up with my active wife and three children.
Highlights of my sports medicine portfolio include:
I previously sat on the RFU Medical & Sports Science Technical Advisory Group.
Member of the Medical Advisory Panel to the Rugby Players Association (RPA) Players Welfare Group.
